Our product requires the same base compaction as asphalt and concrete (95% compaction). However, our base offers greater flexibility than either concrete or asphalt, allowing for slight movement.

Rombus has been specifically designed and engineered to handle concrete, while Diamond Grid and other alternative products are classified as ground stabilization mats. The main points of difference are:
Rombus features interlocking key joints made of concrete, which enable the concrete to pass through the mat without relying on the clips.
The plastic composition of Rombus expands and contracts at a rate higher than the concrete cell, thus securely holding the concrete cell and preventing water from entering the sub base material.

No, in most cases we use a standard concrete mix that can be obtained from any reliable concrete batching plant but with a maximum stone sixe of 10mm

The concrete mix varies depending on the application and desired lifespan. We can use concrete ranging from 20Mpa to 50Mpa and even higher with a design from an engineer.

We suggest using a power trowel with a pan attachment for optimal results.

The time it takes for the pad to be ready depends on the type of application.
For foot traffic and light vehicles, it typically takes 24 hours.
For medium to heavy trucks, it usually takes 7 days.
For a super heavy hard stand, it usually takes 28 days.

Yes, if you want to see the pattern from day one then honing or grinding is required. However, please note that our product gets better with age and the pattern will become more prominent over time as the slurry wears away.

Only if installed by a certified installer and all installation processes and guides have been applied.

Generally, no. However, if you take extra care with the earthworks levels, you will end up with a better job. Even with the additional labor and time, it is still quicker than using standard concrete.

Yes, if the hardstand is suitable for a truck to drive on, then it is possible to lay Rombus straight down for light to medium vehicles. However, we recommend consulting an engineer for further advice.

No, our product's thickness is always 40mm and it can achieve a compressive strength of 10,900 tons per m2.
