Evacuation Procedure
1. Upon first discovery of fire, bomb or other threatening situation, notify the Site Supervisor or a representative of the Client. See Emergency Contact List on notice boards.
2. Immediately instigate an evacuation of the project. Site Supervisor to ensure a “search and remove” operation for all personnel.
3. Notify Emergency Services on 000. Additional telephone numbers are listed on Contact List.
4. Encourage people to remain calm and orderly.
5. Shut down any plant and equipment. Site Supervisor to designate any other duties to personnel.
6. Do not to go back for valuables or tools.
7. Feel surfaces of closed doors before opening them to determine whether fire is present on other side. If escaping though a smoke-filled area, keep close to the floor (where there is most oxygen) and do not move too quickly.
8. If trapped on the upper building level, go to an outer room where the door can be shut and try to exit via the scaffold or attract attention from a window.
9. Follow the Site Evacuation Procedure and report to Site Supervisor or representative of the Client as required.
